Finding other stakeholders

In the complex field of medical technology it is crucial to team up among engineers, medical professionals and companies both within the regions as well as internationally. Therefore Medical Delta organizes numerous activities and projects, such as:

Medical Delta Café
Rotating throughout the region we organize lectures about a medical technology topic from the perspective of three people: a scientists that sketches the state-of-the-art in research, a successful entrepreneur in the field and a person who knows the market as a whole. The lectures all take around 20 minutes and afterwards there is ample time for scientists to find entrepreneurs, who in turn find doctors, investors etc. The Medical Delta is blessed with many inspiring locations which we all will visit, and in each Cafe a drink and a bite will be guaranteed. The cafés are organized by and for the people involved. Find out when the next Cafe will be held

The Medical Delta Roadshows
In February 2010 over a hundred TU Delft scientists visited the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) and Leiden University. This visit will be followed by a visit to the Erasmus Medical Centre in Autumn. During these Roadshows, TU Delft Principle Investigators will give lectures for their medical / biological colleagues and visit their labs. Of course a poster presentation / demonstrator floor will be in place to find out more about each others work and have a drink. Find out more about the Roadshows

Finding each other in Europe
Both the scientific and commercial markets in medical technology are international and therefore we seek collaborations with other strong clusters in e.g. Europe, the far East and the United States. Recently, Medical Delta partners have joined forces with the Oxford and Thames Valley, Canton of Zurich, Catalonia and the mentoring Debrecen region, and submitted a proposal for a Regions of Knowledge grant for Health in January 2010. The partners take collaboration in health care technology to a European level by forming a European consortium called healthTIES. Read more about HealthTIES
