The 25th European symposium on Ultrasound Contrast Imaging

Hilton Hotel Rotterdam

Wednesday 11.30h - Friday 17.00h

Contrast echocardiography has evolved dramatically during the last decade, from a clinical and experimental research method to a clinical diagnostic tool. It provides a non-invasive method for imaging the microcirculation of the heart and of many other organs such as the liver, often providing information which could not be found by alternative imaging methods. Our Symposium will highlight new directions of research, early experiments and clinical applications by both established faculty and young investigators. One of its strong points is the extensive interaction between different disciplines, including clinicians (cardiologists, radiologists, neurologists and others), physicists and engineers, biologists and chemists, from both academic and industrial backgrounds. Apart from microbubble ultrasound imaging the interaction between microbubbles and ultrasound has been long recognized as having great potential for drug and gene delivery. A detailed understanding of this is vital in exploring the use of this exciting technology. The programme includes microbubble technology, molecular imaging and applications for both gene and drug delivery. Since microbubble ultrasound imaging has been crucial into atherosclerotic vasa vasorum imaging, emphasis will be directed towards this application including 3D ultrasound vascular technology.
We hope to welcome you to Rotterdam in January 2020 for an inspiring 25th symposium.

The Organizing Committee: Nico de Jong, Folkert ten Cate, Rik Vos, Klazina Kooiman, Annemien van den Bosch and Arend Schinkel
The Scientific Board: Mike Averkiou, Mark Borden, Paolo Colonna, Olivier Couture, Beat Kaufmann and Eleanor Stride
