According to many, the introduction of revolutionary artificial intelligence, such as the recently released ChatGPT, will have a great impact on many sectors of civilization. Several people frequently use this AI tool and have found that it produces amazing results.

For example, ChatGPT is already being used in writing scientific papers. However, this technology is not flawless, and there are some drawbacks and ethical concerns. This raises several questions, such as what the potential impact is on research, and whether/how the tool can be used responsibly.

Together with Promeras, LUMC Association for PhD students (LAP) and Young Delft, Young Medical Delta is organizing a series of discussions. The goal is to ultimately create a more inclusive environment in the workplace. In each city of the PhD associations, Delft, Rotterdam and Leiden, speakers will explain a particular topic related to medical technology and research. This will be followed by an open discussion with the speakers, the audience and people who want to share their personal experiences. The second event will take place on March 20 in Leiden and will be about the role of AI such as ChatGPT in research.
