The first consortium meeting of the Medical Delta Program 'Cancer Diagnostics for Sustainable Healthcare (CARES)' took place on June 30th at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam.
After a short introduction and updates by the program leaders on the progress of the program, three keynote speakers took the stage.
Dr. Stijn Keereweer of Erasmus MC first shared his insights and current research on fluorescence imaging in cancer surgery. After the break, prof. dr. Alex Vahrmeijer of LUMC presented his work in precision surgery. The final presentation was by dr. Vahid Khandam from TU Delft who told the attendees more about 3D pathology with optical diffraction tomography. During the break and closing drinks students presented their posters.
The consortium looks back on a great afternoon filled with interesting discussions and looks forward to the next meeting.
