Ditto, winner of the National Healthcare Innovation Award and the South Holland regional preliminary round, has raised €7,6 million in additional investment. With this funding, the South Holland-based company aims to realise its European ambitions and develop new functionalities.
Using AI, Ditto converts medical information into understandable language for patients. The app has been downloaded by tens of thousands of people in the Netherlands in a short time. With the new investment, the company aims to expand into other European countries and develop features that help patients prepare for medical consultations.
Ditto won the jury prize of the National Healthcare Innovation Award a month ago, after previously winning the South Holland regional preliminary round organised by Medical Delta.
The jury awarded the prize for its direct contribution to improving patient understanding and adherence to care, and for reducing unnecessary repetition for healthcare professionals.
Ditto addresses a common problem: patients often remember only a fraction of what is discussed during a consultation. With Ditto’s app, patients can easily record their consultation using their own phone, independent of their healthcare provider. The conversation is then converted within minutes into a clear summary using Dutch AI technology. The app adapts the language level and can translate the summary into other languages if desired. The summary can then be securely shared with relatives, without central data storage.
