The festive announcement of the winners will take place on April 9 during Dutch Health Week at Zorg & ICT, the largest health tech event in the Netherlands. Previously, the province of Zuid-Holland winners Wolk Heupairbag and Momo Medical won the national public prize, while last year, Juvoly received the national jury prize.
But first, there are the regional preliminaries. The Zuid-Holland preliminary round will take place during the Medical Delta Café on Wednesday, December 11, in Rotterdam. The central theme is: What is the value of healthcare innovations? Is it about additional healthy life years? Labor savings? Cost reductions? User-friendliness? Efficiency? It seems that financial value often determines the success of an innovation—specifically, the return on investment in euros. But is this a healthy form of selection, or should we take a broader view of the value of innovation? And if so, how do we finance that broader perspective?
In brief presentations, Sanne Allers (Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management), Mascha Slager (Pieter van Foreest), Robin Toorneman (Zorginstituut Nederland), and Dennis Japink (DigiZo) will share their perspectives from various angles. Following their talks, they will engage in a discussion with each other and the audience. Participation in the Medical Delta Café and attending the regional preliminary round of the Healthcare Innovation Award is free. You can register via this link.
ALIS by Praxa Sense is a sensor that measures biosignals in humans. It uses technology that is significantly less affected by motion artifacts and darker skin tones. Additionally, the sensor measures blood velocity, enabling the remote monitoring of additional vital signs. This provides more reliable results compared to traditional biosensors. With Sensara's monitoring solution, healthcare professionals and caregivers gain insight into the daily patterns of elderly individuals, such as those with dementia or physical conditions, through heat sensors placed in the elderly person's home. This allows the care organization, in collaboration with caregivers, to provide 24/7 care, ensuring that every elderly person can live safely at home.
