Upcoming ‘Working Together for Health’ symposium builds on the legacy of Andrea Evers

The innovative and collaborative approach that Andrea Evers embodied throughout her life forms the blueprint for the ‘Working Together for Health’ symposium, which will take place on Thursday 8 October at the Kamerlingh Onnes Building in Leiden.

In keeping with her philosophy, the symposium has been organised as an interactive, transdisciplinary continuation of the movement that Evers set in motion within science, policy and healthcare practice.

Inspiration for health challenges

The aim of the event is to use her vision as inspiration for today’s health challenges. The central question is how different disciplines and sectors can work together to make a tangible impact on society.

Speakers from organisations including the Leiden Bio Science Park, the Municipality of Leiden, the Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR), the LUMC and Medical Delta will share how Evers’ transdisciplinary approach changed their perspective on innovation and health.

Prof. Dr Andrea Evers (1967–2025), winner of the Stevin Prize, was a Medical Delta professor until her passing and was, amongst various other roles, one of the initiators of the Healthy Society Program.
