SLAM Ortho is developing sensor technology for drills. This technology makes it possible for surgeons to use a laser to drill the correct screw length into bones much more accurately. Working closely with the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis and Medical Delta Living Lab OnderzoeksOK, SLAM Ortho is testing the technology, its use, and the processes surrounding it. Read more.
Scientists from the Medical Delta Cardiac Arrhythmia Lab scientific program applied so-called "mapping techniques" for measurements of conduction disturbances of the heart in very young children. This provided the first detailed mapping of electrical conduction in children's hearts. Read more.
The low-friction surgical grasper is an instrument that aims to give surgeons good haptic feedback during minimally invasive surgery. A consortium of companies and knowledge institutions initiated a development project in the Living Lab Medical Delta Instruments. Read more.
StopCoach is an app that helps people quit smoking, preferably in combination with personal counseling, and is based in part on the scientifically proven StopAdvisor intervention from University College London. In 2019 and 2020, NeLL, Pharos, and the Trimbos Institute evaluated the app in a real-life setting in five municipalities. Read more.
DORA is a digital operating room assistant that optimizes the safety and efficiency of processes in and around the operating room (OR). In the Medical Delta Research OK, various tracking systems, image recognition systems and smart algorithms to detect and directly process patterns in this data are being tested and further developed within DORA. Diabetes patients visit their family doctor about four times a year, but the standard measurements at such a check-up can also easily be taken at home. With the app MiGuide, a diabetes patient can keep track of his or her measurement data and receive personal lifestyle recommendations based on that data. Read more.
