Scientists of the Medical Delta Cardiac Arrythmia Lab study living heart tissue

A team of researchers involved in the scientific program Medical Delta Cardiac Arrythmia Lab has created a research setup at Erasmus MC that keeps slices of human heart tissue alive in a biomimetic system. This allows the team to see the effect of medication or treatments on specific patients in a very targeted way and for a longer period of time.

Ten academics who fled their home country, receive an appointment funded by the NWO's 'Hestia Impulse for Refugees in Science'. One of them is Ahmad Alafandi (Erasmus MC), researcher at the scientific program Medical Delta Cancer Diagnostics 3.0.

‘Groeifonds’ application MedTechNL to next phase

The ‘Groeifonds’ (Growth Fund) application from MedTechNL has been selected for further elaboration. Of the 243 submitted pre-applications for the National Groeifonds, 28 proposals were selected. These proposals will have the opportunity to submit a detailed Groeifonds application in the coming months.
