Leiden and Delft student teams ready for international competition iGEM

More than 350 student teams compete, every year, in the international iGEM competition. They are challenged to solve local and global problems by designing genetically modified organisms. Medical Delta supports the interdisciplinary student teams from Leiden (team Binanox) and Delft (team SPYKE).

Ton van der Steen receives highest international recognition for ultrasound

Former Medical Delta president and Medical Delta professor Prof. Dr. Ton van der Steen (Erasmus MC) received the Lord Rayleigh Award, the highest international recognition in his field. Colleagues call him "the figurehead of ultrasound in the Netherlands.

LUMC will help build most detailed atlas of human brain to date

A team of brain researchers want to map the approximately 200 billion cells in the human brain according to their type and function. This atlas is expected to accelerate research into the causes and treatments of brain diseases. Researchers from the Medical Delta AI for Computational Life Sciences scientific program are collaborating on this effort.

Registration for new Interdisciplinary Thesis Lab 'Sustainable Hospitals' is opened

Master’s students can now register for the second year of the Interdisciplinary Thesis Lab 'Sustainable Hospitals' of Medical Delta and the LDE Center for Sustainability starting in February. This year's focus is also on the sustainability of hospitals.

Marije Holstege, new special lecturer Geriatric rehabilitation at Inholland

Dr. Marije Holstege has been special lecturer in Geriatric Rehabilitation at Inholland since September 2022. The professorship was established by care organization Omring and is part of the existing professorship Health and Wellbeing of Vulnerable Elderly People. Holstege is one of the living lab leaders of Medical Delta Living Lab Geriatric Rehabilitation@Home.
