ZorgTech innovation program opens new voucher round The province of Zuid-Holland has made € 750,000 available to continue the ZorgTech innovation program. Of this, €400,000 is now available for at least eight innovation projects on the theme of 'healthy ageing'.

Knowledge from the hotel industry used in research into home recovery for colon cancer patients

A consortium from the Medical Delta Living Lab Better In Better Out that is conducting research into faster and better home recovery of colon cancer patients after surgery, has been awarded a KIEM grant by SIA. A special component of the research is the involvement of Hotelschool The Hague.

Highlighted project: Safer keyhole surgery thanks to new mechanism

One of the methods used for keyhole surgery in the abdomen is the so-called "Veress needle". In some cases, the needle is pricked too deeply and damages underlying tissue. A consortium has developed a prototype mechanism to prevent these needles from slipping.

Green light for second phase Vital Delta

Taskforce for Applied Research SIA has extended the SPRONG grant for the scientific program 'Vital Delta: Medical Delta's Journey towards Vitality and Health' by four years. The SPRONG groups Vitality and Health have been working since February 2018.
